Last year, I had the pleasure of attending the annual She’s the First Leadership Summit (#STFSummit). With so many different universities represented, I was honored to represent the University of Michigan chapter of She’s the First (Go Blue!). Not knowing what to expect, I packed my suitcase full of questions and curiosity and flew to New York for a weekend with another member of our chapter. After three magical (& busy!) days, I ended up leaving with a heart full of inspiration, motivation, new ideas and good friends.
This year, I’m excited to be invited back — not as a student this time, but as a chapter mentor who will take on several campus chapters this fall as a guide/mentor as they strive for success on their own college campuses.
I can’t even believe how time has flown — since when am I old enough to mentor anyone?! (I’m hoping they know that I’m still figuring everything out too — or maybe I hope they don’t know.. 🙂 ). Either way, I’m couldn’t be more honored to continue my journey and volunteer work with She’s the First.
AND, to top it all off, I know that this summit will be just as magical as those in the past.
My one hope for the next few days is that every single campus leader walks away from the weekend with the dedication and mindset to accomplish great things this year. Or better yet, to change the world and leave a legacy at their university (or high school!).
Because that’s exactly how I felt… and still feel today.
Campus chapter leaders — can’t wait to meet you all soon & safe travels!
P.S. I’ll be updating the blog (as well as my sister) all weekend, so stay tuned to see what we’re up to!
