My Story

Hello! I’m Meaghan — nice to meet you!

I’m a 22-year-old writer, originally from the Midwest, but now living & working in the beautiful state of Colorado! After graduating from college, I was lucky enough to land my dream job as the Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief at Seventeen magazine in New York City. (Before you think The Devil Wears Prada, check this out.)

Earlier this year, I took a huge leap of faith to pursue a new opportunity managing social media for Young Life, a christian non-profit that’s aimed toward teenagers and college students. I’ve been involved with Young Life ever since middle school, so this was definitely a dream opportunity that I couldn’t ignore. After a month of agonizing over leaving New York, I finally agreed to put those dreams on hold to pursue a new adventure out west. It’s been nothing but beautiful and challenging and so, so good.

I moved to New York City in 2013 with just two suitcases, a few hundred dollars in my bank account, and a heart full of hope and prayers that I could make something happen for myself. I’m a baker, half marathoner, and the girl you’d call if you needed someone to recite Taylor Swift or NEEDTOBREATHE lyrics at the drop of a hat. Seriously, try me.

I’m here to speak about what it means to follow your dreams, no matter where they lead you. To give you a little hope on the hard days, a little bit of encouragement when it feels like you can’t stand on your own two feet, and a little motivation to go after even your craziest desires. (I’ll give you a little hint… the crazy desires are the ones you definitely want to listen to.)

I’m honored and very humbled to have been featured as a rising journalist & young professional on The Daily Front Row, Her Campus, The Internista, The Smart Girls Guide, College Fashion, The Preppy Post Grad, My Gorgeous Chaos, and Ed2010.

Interested in learning more about how we can collaborate? Need a speaker for an upcoming conference or career workshop? Just wanna drop me a line to say hello?
